Jawed - The Chef

Sara’s Playschool had a Saturday Activity called Pappa Banao Dadi Ki Recipe. Father and Kid had to participate in this activity without any help from Mummy. We had to prepare a healthy and non-fried dish within 30 minutes. I and Sara made Pineapple Shahi Tukda and Fruit Salad. It was a runaway success with not even a small piece left afterwards.

We wore paper aprons which were provided by the organisers. The getup included a small Chef Headgear as well.

We had taken the ingredients from home. The moment the event started, we laid them out on the table and started setting up the plate.

IRMA PRM 20 Get Together at Mumbai

PRM 20 Get together at Mumbai in April 2012

Recently, we organised a get together of the Alumni of the 20th Batch (PRM-20) of the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) at Mumbai.  The idea of a get together got started accidentally on email and then we took it forward and could finally make everyone come on Saturday, 7th April 2012.

The meeting was attended by the following alumni of IRMA,  Devendra Sharma, Jawed Ahmed, Kolluru Hari Kumar, Mohit Bahuguna, Rajneesh Gaur. We met at a place called Pritam Dhaaba in Dadar East. We assembled at 6 in the evening and were there till around half past nine. It was good reliving the glorious days of the past.

The evening came to an end at 9:30 PM. But by that time we had made beginning and we really look forward to getting together again. We eagerly wait for the next alumni meeting of PRM-20 (20th Batch) of Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA)

Jawed Ahmed: Winner of Top 100 CISO 2011 Awards

Jawed Ahmed, Head of Information Technology at the Power Transmission Business of Sterlite Technologies has been selected as the TOP100 CISO 2011 in India.

Its a vindication of the excellent work done by IT team at Sterlite Technologies. The achievement is commendable in the sense that there are very few large manufacturing organisations in India which have such an organised and structured IT Security Program. Sterlite Technologies has achieved this without the use of any directory/security tools like Active Directory or LDAP(May 2011). The policy is implemented and maintained painstakingly by going to the individual desktops across multiple locations.

The awards have been instituted by InfoSecurity Magazine. Jawed Ahmed has been selected out of 3000 Information Security professionals across the country. The jury included eminent persons from Industry as well as Academia.

The particular security project which has been appreciated and recognised is regarding the central control of high-end firewalls through use of scripts without the use of ready-made solutions. This facilitates application of uniform security policy across multiple locations at the same time.

Sterlite Technologies has been at the forefront of IT Security innovation for a long time now. The IT security framework that is implemented at Sterlite Technologies is based on ISO 27K1 and is stringently enforced.

The TOP 100 CISO awards for Sterlite Technologies is an unique achievement because unlike other winners who are either into banking or IT services Sterlite Technologies is a manufacturing organisation.
